Organizing your Fabric Stash
Organize Your Sewing Room
Part 1
Fabric
Getting your Fabric Stash under control is key to having an idea as to what you truly have in your creative space.
If you’re already overwhelmed, stop buying more fabric, it’s just going to make your situation worse.
I use the comic book method of keeping my fabrics looking tidy. I use a plastic alligator clip like the ones you get at the dry cleaner to clip the loose end of the fabric to the comic book board. Look for them on Amazon or Wawak.
Part of being organized is putting your fabric purchase away as soon as you bring it home. It’s establishing routines and getting yourself into the habit of putting it away. I order my comic book boards from Amazon, I use the 7”x10.5” comic book boards, 100 Boards come in a pack. Everyone underestimates how many packages they need, so don’t be surprised when you need more than 1 package of comic book boards.
While the task of wrapping all of your fabric may seem daunting, once it’s done, it’s DONE. Now it’s up to you to maintain a neat and tidy fabric stash.
