Fat Quarter Storage

This past summer I changed up how I store my fat quarters. I went to Target and purchased several of the “Brightroom” collection rectangular stackable trays, they fit perfectly in my IKEA Kallax unit cubbies. I did have to do a wee bit of refolding to get the fit just right but it was worth it. These clear acrylic trays are sturdy! I purchased the 12” x 6”x 4” size and the IKEA Kallax cubby can hold 6 trays, trust me that’s a lot of fat quarters! Once you start organizing like this you’ll be better equipped to see what you have and make better use of your fabrics. I’ve started using these stackable trays for storing my fat eighths and half yard pieces as well, by having them right with the rest of my fabric stash has me using fabrics that I had unintentionally overlooked in the past.
